DAVIDSON COLLEGE
VISUAL ARTS CENTER
Davidson, NC

The neo-classical buildings of Davidson College are the backdrop and inspiration for the sophisticated building wrapper for this new 45,000 square foot “factory” for the making, teaching and display of Art.

The teaching spaces, studios, offices, along with the schools art gallery and lecture hall, wrap the perimeter of the rectangular building and surround an sky lit internal sculpture courtyard which becomes the heart of the building and the primary circulation space. For this project, James Cullion was Associate in Charge and Project Architect at Graham Gund Architects.
