Wilkes Passage - South End - Boston, MA

Unlike other urban loft owners, this young South End couple wanted “rooms with doors”; places to retreat to and most importantly a place for an intended new family member.  They did not, however, want to sacrifice the open spacious feeling associated with loft living; particularly because their unit had an extended and magnificent view of the Holy Cross Cathedral.

The new plan slides the state of the art kitchen forward making room for a new luxurious master bathroom that boasts a fabulous stone paneled rain shower for two.  The master bedroom suite is distinctly separate from a newly created second “guest” bedroom with study alcove.  This affords host and guest alike maximum privacy.  The relocated entry door into the loft creates abundant storage space located in what would otherwise be lightless interior space.  Finally, a loft space that not only looks great and feels spacious but functions splendidly for a modern urban family.
